About Chardon

In the Heart of Geauga County, Chardon is minutes from Amish country, several wonderful wineries, and various Metro Parks. Chardon is known for its maple syrup and the Geauga County Maple Festival, an annual festival held annually during the last full week of April. Other activities in Chardon include Winterfest and various Easter egg hunts around the area. Residents are entertained throughout the seasons; there are several golf courses in the Chardon area, and residents are only minutes from the Alpine Valley Ski Resort.

Chardon plans to rebuild the current Log Cabin on the Square and build the Chardon Heritage House, which will become a great gathering place for the community and businesses. The city also plans to connect the existing bike paths through Lake and Geauga Counties into Chardon, adding 1.5 miles for people to walk, run and bike. The Chardon Living Memorial Park proposes to honor all those affected by a high school shooting in the area in February 2012. Chardon has a quarterly newsletter and is proud of its heritage and strong community of resident volunteers. The Chardon real estate market ranges from single-family homes all the way up to larger, manor-like homes. Condominiums and apartments are available for rent, as well.
